Apink Shares Sentiments On Junior Girl Groups Debuting With Similar Concept

Girl group Apink appears on KBS2’s “Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook” and opens up about girl groups debuting with a pure image similar to theirs.

During the episode, the girls perform their 2011 debut song “I Don’t Know.” Though the song was specially selected by them, it unfortunately was not a huge hit. The audience bursts into laughter when member Hayoung remarks, “Just like the title, nobody knows it.”

Six years ago, Apink rose to fame with their distinct innocent image amidst the trend of sexiness among girl groups at the time of their debut.

However, because several groups have promoted with the innocent image since then, MC Yoo Hee Yeol asks if they feel that their place is being taken away from them. Jung Eun Ji answers, “It makes us proud that many groups debuted with a similar concept after us.”

Son Naeun adds, “Nowadays girl group members are good at everything, even splits. We tried to do splits this time as well, but it didn’t work out.”

Jun Eun Ji explains, “That’s why this time, instead of splits we tried to make a little more impact with our gaze.”

24 Korean Celebs That Have Blood Type A (And What It Says About Their Personality)

Much like the American culture and its fascination with horoscope signs, Korea has its own system of determining what kind of person you are based on your blood type.

Believe it or not, there are many who believe that your blood type can be pretty accurate in determining certain personality traits. Different, right? But that’s what a lot of Koreans do.

Now to get into the specifics. When it comes to those with the blood type A, they are considered to be the most shy ones out of all the other blood types. They are sensitive and introverted. Although they are quiet and don’t like to be around many people, they are patient and perfectionists, which is probably why there are so many of them in the Korean entertainment world! They also don’t express their emotions and feelings very well, so people find them difficult to read sometimes. They can also seem uptight and have a lot of pride, but are incredibly friendly who are willing to give up everything they have for those they love. It’s also good to be nice to them because they are soft-hearted and tend to get hurt easily.

Let’s take a look at some Korean celebs who possess blood type A. Do you think they match this description?

Ga In And Seo In Young Swept Up In Controversy Following “Radio Star” Appearance

After their appearance on the MBC variety show “Radio Star,” Brown Eyed Girls member Ga In and singer Seo In Young have found themselves embroiled in a controversy.

On the September 28 episode of the show, Ga In had brought up an instance from the past when Seo In Young had referred to fellow Brown Eyed Girls member Narsha informally, without the use of honorifics, despite being younger than Narsha.

The controversy, however, stemmed not only from that past incident but from Seo In Young’s reaction on the show when Ga In recalled the story. After Ga In had told the story, Seo In Young expressed her annoyance at the story and tapped Ga In casually on the chin.

Ga-in-radio-star

Netizens expressed their discomfort with her behavior, saying that it was disrespectful, both to Narsha and to Ga In on the show. Afterwards, Seo In Young took to her personal Instagram (@seoinza) to write a lengthy post defending her actions. She wrote, “No matter what you may view me as, I think it is important to know the facts. I want to live honestly. I hate people who are fake. I’ve never tried to make an image in order to make myself look better. I’m just me.”

The PD for “Radio Star” also spoke to reporters, saying, “During the recording, there wasn’t any problem. We knew that the two had a good senior-junior relationship and it was like that during the recording. When Seo In Young tapped Ga In on the face, it was just her showing affection and Ga In received as such. It’s just something to laugh over.”

Ga In’s agency Mystic Entertainment also spoke with reporters on the phone and repeated similar sentiments, saying, “We’re not sure if Ga In has read Seo In Young’s post. It was a personal post that held Seo In Young’s personal opinions and we don’t feel it is the agency’s position to say anything else.”

Seo In Young later added more to her Instagram post, asking if it were fair for her as the senior to be receiving such treatment from the junior. She wrote that Ga In acted differently in front of the camera than she had been before they started recording the show and reiterated her discomfort at the treatment she had received following the broadcast.

What is your opinion about this issue?

BIGBANG’s T.O.P Appears On CNN To Talk About Art

BIGBANG’s T.O.P recently made an appearance on a CNN show to talk about art and what it means to him.

On October 3, T.O.P will be acting as a curator of an auction at Sotheby’s in Hong Kong. For this event, he was interviewed by CNN style, a 30-minute program airing once a month that introduces its viewers to the world of art, design, fashion, cars, luxury products, and architecture.

T.O.P is a passionate art collector and has lent his name (#TTTOP) to the upcoming Sotheby’s auction. On CNN style, he showcased various works of art by artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat and Lee Ufan.

“Through my work as a musician and actor, my life can sometimes be very extreme,” he said. “When it tires me out, I get comfort and inspiration from art and the sense of beauty art brings to me.”

He continued, “When I see a design I like, or a picture that satisfies me, or admire a beauty that I’d never imagined before, I get jealous. Art stimulates me in my own life.”

T.O.P also revealed that he had met up with Sotheby’s a year ago to start working on this project. “We wanted to support young artists and donate part of the auction proceeds to charity. Asian artists and Western artists are combined together. Of course there are masterpieces that everyone knows, but there are also young artists with youthful tastes.”

“I’m proud of seeing all the works that we spent a year curating,” he said. “But it’s also thrilling to think that people will soon be able to share the happy feelings and strong emotions that I felt while working on this project.”

T.O.P’s interview will be included in the segment “The Invitation” on “CNN style,” which is broadcast through “The World Right Now with Hala Gorani” on CNN.

Ailee Is Dark And Charismatic In “A New Empire” Teaser Image

Ailee Is Immensely Surprised To See This Famous YouTuber On “Superstar K8”

It’s not every day you end up judging your friend on a survival singing competition.

Ailee ends up having to do just that, however, on the September 29 episode of “Superstar K8.”

During the show, the singer grabs the attention of the rest of the judges when she suddenly yells, “Oh my god!”as an unexpected figure walks onstage when it’s her respective turn.

201609292208711113_1-1

Shyly waving to her friend, the contestant turns out to be none other than Clara C, a well-known YouTuber in her own right.

Ailee explains to the other judges, “She’s my friend. It’s been about five or six years since I’ve seen her in person.” Taken aback by the turn of events, she then asks Clara C why she is here auditioning for this show when she’s already successful in the United States with several solo concerts and albums under her belt.

She replies, “I may have been born in the United States, but I wanted to succeed in Korea as well since I’m a Korean myself. So, I tried out.”

For her audition, Clara C performs her very own rendition of Far East Movement’s “Rocketeer,” and captivates the judges with her soulful voice accompanied by a jazzy piano melody. Notably, her original cover of this song on YouTube has over 2.5 million views as well.

She manages to successfully move on to the next round, with the judges voting six to one in her favor.

Were you just as surprised as Ailee to see Clara C on this show?

Apink Spills The Details On Hayoung’s Obsessive Gaming Habits

On September 28, the girls of Apink made a guest appearance on SBS’s PowerFM’s “2 O’Clock Escape Cultwo Show” in honor of making a long-awaited comeback with their newest title track, “Only One.”

When a listener sends in a comment about Hayoung that says they saw the idol fervently playing shooting games at a PC room (gaming center), the youngest member simply replies, “These days [I play] at the dorm instead.”

Jumping in, Jung Eunji reveals that Hayoung purchases new keyboards quite often, and recalls how once “there was definitely a keyboard that had just came, but then another one arrived.”

Hayoung defends her purchases and says, “The keyboard is important when gaming. I think I’ve bought about three new ones recently. Since they don’t work as well, I end up constantly changing them.”

Curious about her skill level, the DJs directly ask the idol herself. While she replies, “I’m still a little lacking,” Hayoung follows up by revealing she’s at the level of a colonel in a specific game, just below the level of a general.

When it’s mentioned to Ra Mi Ran that Park Bo Gum has said she is his closest female friend, Ra Mi Ran tries to deny that’s true. The show then shares clips of Ra Mi Ran talking to Park Bo Gum over the phone and giving him a big hug on “Sister’s Slam Dunk.”

15 Underrated K-Pop Collabs You Need To Hear Right Now

Just when you thought there was nothing better than your favorite group releasing new music, they link up with members of another group and release an amazing collab track. In no particular order, here are 15 stunning collaborations you absolutely need on your playlist.

Lee Hi – “Special (feat. BLACKPINK’s Jennie)”

Years before her official debut, BLACKPINK’s Jennie lent her voice to a number of YG artists’ tracks. Much like her contribution on G-Dragon’s “Black,” Jennie makes this Lee Hi collaboration an easy essential.

Sunmi – “Frozen in Time (feat. GOT7’s Jackson)”

Wonder Girls’ Sunmi turns heads when she releases solo title tracks like “Full Moon” and “24 Hours,” but you definitely can’t let her duet with GOT7’s Jackson slip under your radar. It’s slow, lush, and rhythmic – a perfect fit for both stargazing and late-night car rides.

f(x) – “Lollipop (feat. SHINee)”

If there were ever two groups that needed to collaborate more often, f(x) and SHINee would be those groups. “Lollipop” is their first official track together, and it definitely makes you wish they’d collaborate more.

Apink & B.A.P – “Mini”

Apink and B.A.P are two groups you’d never imagine together, but their joint track “Mini” still works. Aside from making you immediately want to buy everything they’re selling, the tune is a cute and catchy essential on all your favorite playlists.

EXO’s Chen & Heize – “Lil’ Something”

Can we all agree that STATION is the best concept to come out of SM Entertainment this year? EXO’s Chen and rapper Heize give us yet another hit in their collaboration STATION track “Lil’ Something,” produced by Vibe’s Jae Hyun Ryu.

IU – “Everybody Has Secrets (feat. Gain)”

IU joins Brown Eyed Girls’ Gain for a jazzy duet in “Everybody Has Secrets.” The tune is a great B-side track to IU’s “Modern Times” album, which includes another fantastic duet with SHINee’s Jonghyun.

MONSTA X – “Ex Girl (feat. MAMAMOO’s Wheein)”

Yet another example of why we need cross-company group collaborations. MONSTA X couples with MAMAMOO’s Wheein for a laidback track unlike their usual hard-hitting hip hop.

f(x) – “Goodbye Summer (feat. EXO’s D.O.)”

Continuing on with that same mellow feel, f(x) rejoins the list for their collaboration with EXO’s D.O on “Goodbye Summer.” Thanks to Amber’s lyricism, there’s even an English version, featuring Eric Nam.

HyunA – “Just Follow (feat. Block B’s Zico)”

Although the official version features Dok2, you can’t help but love HyunA’s version with Zico for her live stages. The two rappers exude the same strong, daring confidence we know from their solo projects, and their song will leave you feeling just as bold.

BIGBANG – “Forever With U (feat. 2NE1’s Park Bom)”

With the amount of classics G-Dragon, T.O.P, and Park Bom have under their belts, YG Entertainment might as well go ahead and make them an official subunit. This soulful tune from BIGBANG’s early days still deserves your attention eight years after its release.

VIXX – “You’re Mine (feat. Minah of Girl’s Day)”

VIXX switches things up for their track “You’re Mine” with Minah of Girl’s Day. This easygoing track pairs Minah with the VIXX members, setting the perfect ambience for a carefree evening.

BTS’s Suga – “So Far Away (feat. Suran)”

More than just a beautiful song, “So Far Away” is a transformative collaboration between BTS’s Suga and indie artist Suran that explores the uphill battle of having and achieving your dreams.

T-ara & Supernova – “TTL (Time To Love)”

T-ara and Supernova collaborate effortlessly in their 2011 joint track “TTL (Time To Love).” The groups work together so seamlessly, it’s almost like they’re one coed group.

Jonghyun – “Love Belt (feat. Younha)”

SHINee’s Jonghyun’s duet with Younha will definitely be your anthem for the fall. Calm and captivating, this track is the perfect addition to any and all of your lazy autumn days.

Lee Hi – “World Tour (feat. WINNER’s Mino)”

YG artists are no strangers to collaborating with their labelmates. This Lee Hi and Mino track is the perfect example of their artistry. Lee Hi’s voice alone is enough to make for an enticing song, but Mino brings it to a whole other level with his skillful rap.
