Lee Joon Talks About Getting Acting Tips From Netizens
Lee Joon shares how he reacts to criticisms about him on the internet.
On October 25, the actor sits down for an interview in a cafe in Samcheongdong, Seoul. When asked where he gets tips to improve his acting, he reveals, “I gather them from the internet. I read mean comments, think, ‘Ah, so this is how I acted,’ and ponder over it.”
He continues, “I read all the compliments as well. I normally monitor comments on my acting a lot, but this time for ‘Luck-Key’ I can’t do it as much. The film is performing well so there are many reviews about its weak points, and I can’t read them all. Usually, I acknowledge and accept those judgments about my acting. I don’t deny them.”
He shares, “Honestly when I read mean comments I sometimes get hurt too, but I accept them. That’s my job, so I have to recognize praises and criticisms alike. I spent time secretly agonizing over them alone at home. Looking back, it was an issue of whether I should accept them or not.”
Meanwhile, “Luck-Key” is a Japanese movie remake about a charismatic killer whose identity is switched with an obscure actor because of a bathroom key. The comedy film stars Yoo Hae Jin and Lee Joon. Since its premiere on October 13, the movie has attracted over 4 million viewers and is emerging as a box office hit.

Which Girls’ Generation Member Worked The Hardest To Improve Her Dancing?
On the October 25 episode of MBC Every1 talk show “Video Star,” Stephanie appears as a guest.
During the show, Stephanie, who was housed under SM Entertainment until May of this year, talks about her past experience as Girls’ Generation’s dance instructor prior to their debut. When asked which of the members excelled at dancing as a trainee, Stephanie chooses Hyoyeon, saying, “If we were doing a showcase or something like that, I would just put Hyoyeon in charge. I had that respect for her.”
Stephanie also reveals that there was one member who caught her eye for how hard she worked, practicing separately in order to improve her dancing.
“In the beginning, she was very timid, and I wondered if she would improve or not,” Stephanie describes the member. “But as the days passed, she—”
Before Stephanie can finish, the MCs interrupt her with their guesses. Kim Sook and Park So Hyun think the member is Seohyun. Hyosung guesses Taeyeon, while Park Na Rae think it’s Yuri. Stephanie reveals that the member was Seohyun.
It looks like all of Seohyun’s hard work payed off!

Which Girls’ Generation Member Worked The Hardest To Improve Her Dancing?Watch: BTS Picks Their Sexiest Member, Rapper Line Shows Off Singing Talents, And More On “The Show”
During October 25’s episode of SBS MTV’s “The Show,” the guys of BTS sit down for an interview with a “special MC”: their maknae, Jungkook!
The interview questions all fit the theme of their latest hit track “Blood Sweat & Tears.” Jungkook asks which member is the most “cold-hearted” (although the expression they use is literally “has neither blood nor tears” in Korean), and J-Hope picks Suga. Suga admits it but adds dryly, “I do in fact have both blood and tears though, or I wouldn’t be alive right now.”
One of the next sections that Jungkook announces is based on a play on the similar sounding words “sweat” and “stitch” in Korean. He tells the guys that one of them will be sewing a nose onto a doll, and picks Suga because he was chosen as the most cold-hearted. Suga then sets to work on his task, and spends much of the rest of the interview bent over the doll concentrating hard as he sews.
Jungkook then asks the guys “Which member is the sexiest, down to their drops of sweat?” Rap Monster says, “This time around, Jimin is the sexiest.” V jumps in to say, “Personally, I think it’s Jin.”
J-Hope suggests they settle it by pointing to who they think is the sexiest. There’s no clear winner, and V seems to point Jimin’s arm towards Jin so that he can announce that Jin has the most votes. They then have Jin make a “sexy” expression for the camera, but of course tease him that he’s not making it work today.
In the “tears” part of the show, Jin, V, and Rap Monster engage in a competition to see who can make themselves cry first. Jungkook tells the guys that they should try to prepare themselves, and then raise their hands when they feel like the tears are about to flow.
They’re then supposed to reenact Kim Soo Hyun‘s crying scene from “My Love From the Star” as they let the tears fall. Jin goes for it first, and he impresses the others as a tear falls down his cheek while he says the famous line.
Right after, Suga announces that he’s finished the doll, but the guys crack up over how he’s left the needle hanging from its nose, joking that it looks like snot. Suga agrees that it’s snot, but sets back to work to finish it because it’s going to be given to a fan who wins a contest.
Jungkook then says that the group is known for their diverse talents, and that he thinks they can’t end the show without hearing the rapper line’s “hidden vocal talents.” To fit with the theme, Suga and J-Hope (also known as the vocal duo Sope-Me) break out into a passionate falsetto version of So Chan Whee’s “Tears,” featuring Rap Monster towards the end.

On the October 24 episode of “Star Show 360,” girl group SISTAR appears as guests.
During the show, the members discuss each other’s temperaments. “I think I have a lot of sadness,” Soyou says.
When asked by MC Tak Jae Hoon which of the members has a lot of anger, Hyorin raises her hand without hesitation.
“I don’t have any sadness, all my sadness has become anger,” Hyorin says.
Soyou reveals that she and Hyorin got examined together and were told, “We both have a lot of anger, but Hyorin has an extreme amount [of anger] and not even an ounce of sadness.”
“They said my personality doesn’t experience any sadness,” Hyorin affirms. “And they also said I have the most anger out of all the patients they’ve seen.”
She continues, “Occasionally, I go to the emergency room in the early morning because I’m sick without any reason.”
MC Leeteuk says, “Yea, that’s an illness caused by pent-up rage.”
Dasom adds, “When [Hyorin] gets mad, she gets physically ill. She reacts physically.”
“It’s because I can’t express it anywhere,” Hyorin says.
Dasom says, “That’s why [Hyorin] unni’s solution of choice is…” She doesn’t complete her sentence and instead makes a drinking motion with her hands.
Meanwhile, Hyorin dropped the music video for pre-release track “Love Like This” featuring rapper Dok2 on October 26 at midnight KST. Her new album will be released on November 8.

Some of the members of B.A.P have reached out to fans directly via Twitter to talk to them about the recent news that leader Bang Yong Guk will not be taking part in their upcoming comeback promotions.
On October 25, B.A.P’s agency TS Entertainment announced that due to a panic disorder, Bang Yong Guk will not be promoting with the group for their comeback with their second studio album.
Bang Yong Guk tweeted to fans later that day, “I will try to return again healthy. As the leader, since I can’t be together with the members and fans, all I can do is think it’s a shame and be sorry. Please show more interest and support for the other members.”
Member Daehyun wrote on Twitter, “You were really surprised at the sudden news, weren’t you, Baby? Bang Yong Guk is always working hard and trying hard as our group’s leader. As he takes a rest, I also want to support him so that he can get well again. Also, I think that your support and love will be even more helpful than my own in helping him recover faster.”
He goes on to say, “So let’s all cheer on Bang Yong Guk! Please all be together for Bang Yong Guk’s empty spot in this album! We’ll coolly present to you this album that Bang Yong Guk worked so hard on. I’m always grateful. I love you, Baby.”
Himchan took to Twitter to write to fans, “I think you must have been very surprised by this sudden news. My friend is ill so I’m worried and upset, but there are more days in the future when we will promote together, and I will help a lot so that he can soon return to stand in front of all of you again in good form. And he’ll be back very soon.”
He adds, “It will all be okay. We’ll try very hard too and help him, everyone.”

He adds, “Still, I think it will be okay somehow if the five us work together with all of you. Please be together with us this time, just as you have done for us up until now. Thank you for always being such a reliable pillar of support for us. I love you, Babys.”
B.A.P is currently preparing to make a comeback with their second full album “NOIR” on November 7.

Here’s How To Vote For Your Faves To Win Best Korean Act At The MTV EMAsRecap: Fans Bond Over “Moonlight Drawn By Clouds” at Viki Screening + Host Your Own Collegiate Event!
Earlier on this month, the Viki and Soompi team hiked north from our home base in San Mateo to host our very first collegiate event at the University of California, Berkeley!
What’s better than watching K-drama on your laptop? Enjoying it on the big screen with your friends, free food, Viki and Soompi swag, and even Snackfever boxes!
We teamed up with KUNA and K-Popular, two of the campus’ biggest Korea-centric organizations, to screen the very first episode of “Moonlight Drawn by Clouds.” The series may have just come to a finale, but that didn’t stop us from re-living the joy of the first episode.
The Viki team kicked off the evening with a quick introduction to K-drama, and then it was time for that magical moment – Kim Yoo Jung and Park Bo Gum took their spots on the big screen. Whether they had seen the drama or not, the students were able to enjoy the first episode with their own version of live timed comments – from squeals of joy at the adorable to gasps at Park Bo Gum’s character.
After the screening we also had a trivia session to test attendees on their K-pop and K-drama knowledge. The prizes were special Viki x Snackfever boxes full of Viki swag and delicious snacks.
All in all, it was a solid night for fans of K-drama and pizza. But most importantly of K-drama.

On the October 24 episode of “Abnormal Summit,” actress Song Ji Hyo appears as a guest.
In light of the plot of her upcoming JTBC drama “This Week, My Wife Is Having an Affair” (working title), the MCs ask Song Ji Hyo how she would deal with suspicions of a spouse’s affair.
“So if I’m definitely suspicious and have a strong hunch but don’t have any real evidence, rather than digging through his things and conjecturing on my own, I would just straight up ask him,” Song Ji Hyo says.
Song Ji Hyo then acts out with Yoo Se Yoon how she would confront a husband who comes home late after being out with another woman.
“These days, I’m a bit suspicious, so give me your phone” Song Ji Hyo says to Yoo Se Yoon. “I can look at it right?”
Yoo Se Yoon hesitates, and she asks, “You must not want to give it to me?”
“No no,” says Yoo Se Yoon, acting like he’s handing it over only to throw the (air) phone on the ground and smashing it into bits.
Song Ji Hyo explains her reasoning behind asking for the phone upfront, saying, “Rather than looking at [his phone] behind his back, I think looking at the phone in front of him and talking about it is better.”
Do you agree with her approach to dealing with this type of situation?
Meanwhile, Song Ji Hyo’s upcoming comedic drama “This Week, My Wife Is Having an Affair” will air its first episode on October 28. You can watch previews for the drama here.

On October 24’s episode of “Please Take Care of My Refrigerator,” GOT7’s Jackson appears as a guest and reveals what GOT7 keeps in their fridge!
The fridge from GOT7’s dorm is packed with food, and the hosts first point out that there seem to be a lot of bottles of food and side dishes from China, which Jackson seems happy they noticed.
Kim Sung Joo asks Jackson if he misses the food from home, and he replies, “Yes, especially when I’m worn out, or when the other members are eating spicy food, because I get left out when they eat spicy food. I can eat it, but it makes me sweat.”
The hosts also find a box of packets of pear juice, which Jackson says is good for your throat. Fellow guest Henry of Super Junior-M jumps up and asks if he can have one, and Jackson ends up handing one out to all of the chefs as well.
“Who does the pear juice belong to?” asks Kim Sung Joo, and Jackson replies, “Jinyoung!” Kim Sung Joo is surprised and asks if it’s okay that everyone drinks them, and Jackson replies with a serious expression, “They already did.”
The hosts also find chocolates (which Henry and Jackson love getting to snack on), milk, cabbage juice (organic of course), cheese (Jackson’s favorite), and lots more in the fridge. They then open up the freezer and express their shock over how much ice cream GOT7 has.
“All seven of us like ice cream, so we have one for each of us and write our names on them,” explains Jackson. They also find some frozen meat in the freezer, and the chefs complain because of the lack of ingredients like vegetables that they can use when they’re cooking later on.
The hosts then discover Jackson’s stash of organic green tea, and Jackson expresses his love for it. “I used to have a lot of pimples,” he says. “Park Jin Young told me to drink green tea for it. After I started drinking the organic green tea, it all cleared up.”

Block B’s Sub-Unit BASTARZ Shares Captivating Photos After Comeback With “Selfish & Beautiful Girl”G-Dragon, Rap Monster, CL, Epik High, Zico, And More Named As “10 Korean Rappers You Should Know” By XXL Magazine
American hip-hop magazine XXL has put together a list of the ten Korean rappers that they think their readers should check out!
The ten rappers on the list include some of the biggest names in both underground and mainstream Korean hip-hop (in no apparent order): Keith Ape, Block B’s Zico, the guys of Epik High, Okasian, BTS’s Rap Monster, JayAllDay, BIGBANG’s G-Dragon, 2NE1’s CL, Beenzino, and Dok2.
Writer Peter A. Berry compares Rap Monster to “Pitbull or Flo Rida for those pop vibes,” and promises, “Rap Monster rarely fails to live up to his name.” He describes the young star as “one of the region’s most dexterous rappers, capable of switching flows effortlessly as he glides across an array of diverse instrumentals.”
He describes G-Dragon’s music as “Rap over electrohop,” and says readers should check him out if they’re into “fast and furious dance moves, and energetic flows over electrohop beats.”
He writes about Zico, “If you want to hear someone that infuses the gloss of K-pop with the verbal gymnastics of a traditional East Coast rapper, Zico is your guy.” He also sees great things to come for CL to come as he writes, “With effortless swag, dynamic musical ability and good looks, CL is a name you’re going to be hearing a lot of in the near future – if you haven’t already.”

G-Dragon, Rap Monster, CL, Epik High, Zico, And More Named As “10 Korean Rappers You Should Know” By XXL Magazine11 Reasons You Need To Watch “Don’t Dare To Dream (Jealousy Incarnate)”
Zany drama “Don’t Dare to Dream (Jealousy Incarnate)” starring Jo Jung Suk and Gong Hyo Jin has been on air for two months (with one more to go) and boy is it chock full of delectable drama goodies. Steamy kisses? Check. Bromance? Check. Gorgeous men in suits wrestling in mud? A big, fat check! This is a must watch drama, Soompiers. Read on to find out why!
Good friends give butt rubs
When Jung Won (Go Kyung Pyo) visits Hwa Shin (Jo Jung Suk) in the hospital and Hwa Shin is rendered immobilized by a minor surgery, Jung Won must rub Hwa Shin’s injection site for him. We know that no matter how much Jung Won wants to pulverize Hwa Shin for liking the same girl, he will do anything for his nearest and dearest friend, including massaging the soreness out of his rear end. That’s real friendship right there.
Jo Jung Suk wearing a bra
Yes, you read that correctly. Acting, singing, and dancing talent extraordinaire Jo Jung Suk attempts to wear a bra in an especially comical scene. Albeit the bra is for maintaining pressure on a surgical site, the sight is still one to behold — and one to laugh at. Leave it to Jo Jung Suk to milk the scene for all it was worth. Can you blame Gong Hyo Jin’s character for jumping on that golden photo opportunity?
Meta references
There ain’t nothing more satisfying than a good meta reference. Episode 15 brings back a good one from six years ago: one of Gong Hyo Jin’s most infamous pairings — the “voice” Lee Sun Gyun from the 2010 romantic kitchen comedy “Pasta.” We hear Lee Sun Gyun’s telltale deep baritone and never see his face. But references to pasta, goldfish, and a woman who looks like Na Ri (Gong Hyo Jin) bring us back to those happy times.
Gong Hyo Jin gets handsy
From the start we get some paws-on humor with Gong Hyo Jin as Pyo Na Ri, the weather announcer who has a penchant for Jo Jung Suk’s chest. For two episodes she follows him around, grabbing at him as he attempts to dodge her wily fingers. Although it’s pretty funny, she actually has a serious reason (besides the beautiful man himself) to get handsy with his chest. Doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy the antics!
Fun animations
One of the most fun aspects of this drama is that it makes use of adorable animations to punctuate emotional scenes. When best buddies Jung Won and Hwa Shin take their aggression to the boxing ring, the animated signs give humorous insight into what Hwa Shin is really thinking: he wants to take Jung Won out from behind for dating Na Ri! Or, when Jung Won, Hwa Shin, and Na Ri take to the beach, the animated sign illustrates how alone Hwa Shin feels as the other two play together.
Manly mud fights
Although Go Kyung Pyo’s and Jo Jung Suk’s characters are best friends, they definitely have their moments. One of those is during low tide at a beach when the two get into an exciting and very muddy fight in their Sunday best. They punch, flip, yell, and drag out their frustrations while we watch in our nice, dry homes. Life is good.
Romantic water fights
After playing in the mud, it’s time to clean up, and Go Kyung Pyo and Gong Hyo Jin make the most of it. The new couple goof off in the cool spray of a hose while attempting to wash off the mud that covers them from head to toe. Their wide grins and bubbling laughter are infectious and a definite reason to hit “replay” a time or two.
Bromance
After all of the fights that Jung Won and Hwa Shin get into they owe us some bromance. Boy, do they deliver. Drinks, singing, and kisses abound as the man-children bond over soju. Their easy camaraderie is palpable despite all of the tension coursing between them over their shared romantic interest in Na Ri.
Jo Jung Suk pouting with a kid
When Jo Jung Suk’s heartbroken character Hwa Shin uses an adorable kid to try and manipulate Na Ri, we all have to wonder how the crazy girl can resist? I mean, look at that face. That’s a pout that deserves to be kissed away once the little guy has gone to bed.
Fantastic kisses
If your name is Gong Hyo Jin, you are one lucky woman. Not only does she get to kiss her handsome leading man, Jo Jung Suk, in one of the hottest kisses on television, but she gets to plant a good one on Go Kyung Pyo as well. She is one fortunate lady. Are you jealous?
Go Kyung Pyo the romantic
This “Reply 1988” star knows how bring a second lead to life. He has amazing chemistry with television and film veteran Gong Hyo Jin and knows how to put the moves on his noona. His character Jung Won is one of the most savvy, suave, and self-assured second leads around. Bring it on, Go Kyung Pyo. We’re ready for you… we think. We might need some fans first.
